For the third consecutive year, Longwood's U13 hurlers have reached the League Final.

Victory over Donaghmore/Ashbourne in 2019 was followed by defeat to Kiltale in 2020.

This Saturday sees a repeat of last year's final but there are two important changes to note. Firstly, both Longwood and Kiltale have moved up to Division 2 this year, having contested the Division 3 decider last year. Secondly, this year's final will take place in Longwood whereas last year's game was played in Kiltale.

Both teams had convincing semi-final victories; Longwood beating a valiant Saints team, Kiltale seeing off Gaeil Colmcille/Loughcrew Gaels. The scene is set for a cracking final.

It's a tremendous achievement for the players to get back to the final for the third successive year. Many of the players - Rian Duffy, James Cully, Noel Gill, Conor Dorran, William Phillips and Ronan Greene - have played in the two previous deciders and their experience can only benefit the younger members of the panel.

Huge credit must go to the U13 mentors, Jim Dorran and Enda Dixon. This pair of Longwood legends have devoted themselves selflessly to improve this talented group of players. The results of the past few years speak volumes.

We wish all the players and their dedicated coaches the very best for Saturday. Bring it home lads!

The game takes place on Saturday (November 6th) afternoon @ 2.00 in Longwood.

Please come out and support the team.
