You know the old adage about London buses - you wait around for hours for your bus and then two come along together.

Well Longwood's GAA community can certainly relate to this; we wait over 70 years to see our club play a Senior Football Championship match and now we have another game within a fortnight!

After a tough opening round defeat at the hands of a strong Ratoath team, things don't get any easier in Round 2 as our boys face up to a Rathkenny side who can draw on many years of senior championship experience. Any team that includes Donal Keogan, undoubtedly Meath's most consistent performer over the past few years, is bound to present a formidable challenge.

But Longwood have never ducked a challenge and we can be sure the boys will come out fighting.

The game takes place in Trim @ 4.30 on Saturday afternoon.

We urge everybody to come out and support the team as they bid to secure two precious championship points.

Such a result would represent a fantastic return from the opening two rounds.

And our Easter Eggs would taste that much sweeter on Sunday morning !!
